Hannah grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia, and attended Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. At Kenyon, Hannah majored in Sociology and minored in Studio Art, and volunteered as Relay For Life Co-Chair and a Peer Counselor. After she graduated in 2016, Hannah moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and served as a City Year AmeriCorps member in an 8th grade English classroom. It was there that Hannah developed her passion for youth development and education equity. She decided to serve a second year with AmeriCorps and moved to Seattle, Washington. In Seattle, she served as the STEM Enrichment Coordinator for Making Connections, a program run out of the University of Washington Women’s Center. In this role, Hannah helped young women from traditionally underserved backgrounds succeed in their pursuit of STEM focused higher education and careers. After two years of AmeriCorps, Hannah is excited to be back in her home state of Virginia and to continue her work empowering youth.
In her spare time, Hannah enjoys hiking, jumping in bodies of water, water coloring, reading, and doing embroidery. Her two favorite things are french fries and her cat, Purl.
