Sarah joined Inspire U.S. in September 2017 as the Pennsylvania Regional Coordinator. She moved to Pittsburgh to complete her MS in Public Policy & Management at Carnegie Mellon University and focused her studies on exploring how data & design can better inform policy, community organizing & mobilization. She put her education to practice as a research intern for 412 Food Rescue, a local organization committed to addressing the disconnect between food waste, hunger and environmental sustainability. She also served as an organizing fellow with Fight Back Pittsburgh, an advocacy group committed to improving the lives of working class communities in Western Pennsylvania.
Prior to moving to Pittsburgh, Sarah lived and worked in Washington, DC where she moved after high school to pursue a career in politics. However, after several years in the nonprofit sector, she knew she wanted to start a career as an advocate for social justice and community equity at the local level. As part of the Inspire team she hopes to expand opportunities for young people to engage in civics, government, activism, and community involvement.
